Re: John G. Peterson
Julia Dragojevic, Esq. Dan Sherman
CONTOS & BUNCH Eugene M. Ingram
5855 Topanga Canyon
Woodland Hills, California 90012
SUBJECT: SERVICE OF PROCESS/LOCATE
This investigation is predicated upon our telephone conversation
of October 24, 1986, to immediately do all work necessary to
serve Subpenas for depositions on the subjects of this
investigation.
JOHN G. PETERSON:
On October 25, 1986, at approximately 0757 hours. Investigator
Richardson personally served Peterson at the residence of 1551
Queens Road, Los Angeles, California. Investigative inquiry was
required to locate the current address of Peterson.
DAN SHERMAN:
On October 25, 1986, 2017 hours. Investigator Richardson
attempted service on Dan Sherman at the residence of 1440
Ambrose, #202, Los Angeles, California. During the service
attempt, a roommate described as a male/caucasion answered the
door and indicated that the subject was out of town until October
28, 1986. Investigator observed several children in the
apartment eating dinner. The roommate did not fit the
description of Sherman.
On October 27, 1986, Investigators staked out that location for
period of time with negative results.
On October 28, 1986, at approximately 2031 hours a service of
process attempt was initiated at the 1440 Ambrose location, with
negative results. Investigator Richardson observed a note on the
#202 door, "Do not disturb". It was further determined that the
subject holds a black belt in karate. Stakeout was initiated for
period of time, with negative results.
On October 29, 1986 at approximately 1832 hours. Investigator
Richadson attempted to initiate service of process on Sherman,
with negative results. A DMV inquiry and Real Property check was
conducted with negative results. In this Investigators opinion
the Dan Sherman may not be the actual name of the subject of
public record but a pen/name for the title books. Due to the
nature of this investigation and its time factor of this case, we
are unable to verify this undeveloped lead, at this time.
Our office was later informed to terminate efforts of service of
process on Dan Sherman.
It is this Investigators opinion, based on October 25, 1986, meet
with the occupant of apartment #202, Sherman has sublet the
apartment to the unknown residing occupants and may occasionally
and or periodically stop by and use that address as a mail drop.
The subject's name remains on the mailbox and directory. During
the surveillance/stakeout at that location. Investigators
maintained surveillance from a vantage point outside the 1440
complex with visual observation of the front second floor
livingroom window, of that #202 apartment. Investigator
Richardson observed the male occupant, who answered the door on
October 25, 1986, moving within that complex. At the time of
inquiry, Investigator Richardson further observed children in
bare feet playing and preparing for dinner.
On October 29, 1986, service of process/ periodic surveillance
was initiated at the 1440 Ambrose location, with negative results
EUGENE M. INGRAM
On October 24, 1986, investigative inquiry was initiated on
Eugene Ingram as follows: DMV.; Marriage Index; Voters
Registration on a rush basis.
On October 27, 1986, at approximately 1220 hours, service of
process was initiated at the office of Ingrams Investigation,
located at 4343 Sunset Blvd., North Hollywood, California.
At that time, Investigator Richardson requested to see Eugene
Ingram. A black/male, office/investigator answered the door and
indicated, Eugene Ingram was not in the office. The office
worker/investigator requested to know the nature of inquiry.
Investigator Richardson informed the male/individual that, a
Subpena was issued for Ingrams deposition. The Investigator
replied, " That was a bad case." Investigator Richardson left a
business card requiring a telephone from Ingram and departed that
location. Based on the information submitted by your office,
Ingram has conducted investigations for The Church Of Scientology
Confidential sources have indicated that in the past, Ingram
Investigators while conducting an assignment for Scientology ,
were responsible in using scare tactics and on one instance,
attempted to vehically run down ex-Scientology members. The
confidential source also indicated that, L.A.P.D. Officers were
also involved in a situation concerning Ingrams and Scientology.
NOTE: On November 1, 1986, Investigator Richardson reportedly
notified the north/east L.A.P.D. Division desk and spoke with
Officer Pidilio. Investigator reported the 11/01/86 incident at
the residence of Ingrain. Officer Pidilio recalled, Ingram and
his residential location and indicated that at one time Ingram
caused the Officers a lot of internal problems. Officer Pidilio
was able to discuss the matter any further. (See ll/0l/86)0n

NOTE; On October 27, 1986, vehicle license plates were taken,
utilizing binoculars from the ground rear parking level of 4343
Sunset Blvd., location of Ingram Investigations. These license
plates were later compared with the subjects current owned
vehicle plates from DMV to determine if the subject was utilizing
any of his personal cars in the vicinity of his office. The
parking area is further locked with security gates and security
doors accessed from the 4343 building. Investigator Richardson
failed to observe those vehicles of the Eugene Ingram's in the
area.
On October 29, 1986, at approximately 2106 hours, Investigator

Mercury-Topez.
The residential front doors are secured behind security bars with
a dog lodged off the chain inside that area.
On October 29, 1986, 2121 hours Investigator maintained
surveillance at a vantage point. At that time, in this
Investigators opinion, the subject would possibly avoid service
of process for deposition. Investigator Richardson staked/out
the residential location in a effort to further observe subject
leave the residence and or arrive on location in a vehicle
earlier identified by the DMV print out. NOTE: Investigative
inquiry was initiated at the subjects office earlier that evening
with negative results.
On October 29, 1986, approximately 2131 hours, Investigator
Richardson attempted service of process on Eugene Ingram at the
717 Danford Drive location. At that time, while standing on the
lumber red wood walkway level infront of the security gates
leading to the front door, I observed an individual through the
window blinds from the side of the house standing in the lighted
room matching the description of Ingram. The subject is
described as a male /caucasion, dark hair, wearing a light blue
shirt and round facial features.
Investigator Richardson approached the front door. Due to the
dogs continuous barking , a white/female believed to be Regina
Ingram, answered the door. Investigator Richardson requested to
see "Gene". Regina Ingram replied, " He's not in". Investigator
Richardson further replied in stating, "I can see Gene through
the window Venetian blinds". Regina Ingram replied, " That's my
brother-in-law with a smile". Investigator replied, " Come on
Gene knows me, I'am J.R.", "I'm an old friend, come on I'm not
gaging you like your trying to gage me. "Regina Ingram, hesitated
and began to smile. Regina Ingram departed the front door
momentarily. Investigator Richardson observed the light go out
in the room where the subject was believed observed/located.
Mrs. Ingram returned to the door and indicated that Gene was not
available. Investigator departed the location and maintained
surveillance in the vicinity of the residence. Investigator
Richardson observed Regina Ingram let the dog out of the secured
area onto the exterior of the perimeter of the 717 Danford
location.
On October 29, 1986 at approximately 2231 hours, departed that
location.

AREX and a black 1986 (Late Model) along with a (black late model
1986) Trans Am Pontiac, parked directly in the driveway. A yellow
Cadillac (Coupe de Ville) Ca. Lie. plate 2AKY167 was parked on
the street in front of the residence.
NOTE: The Danford Drive residential area is heavily maintained by
the neighborhood watch and private mobil patrol units. Our
surveillance units maintained various observation stationery
points as well as conducting mobil driveby surveillance of the
subjects residence, to effect service of process.
On November 1, 1986, approximately 0711 hours. Investigators
observed a female/caucasion fitting the description of Regina
Ingram, depart the 717 Danford Drive, residence driving the 1986
(grey) Saab Ca. Lie. plate REN AREX and proceeded out of the area.

DETAILS OF SERVICE OF PROCESS;
On November 1, 1986, at approximately 0921 hours, the subject of
this investigation Eugene Ingram was served a subpena relative to
C 420153, CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY OF CALIFORNIA vs GERALD ARMSTRONG
AND RELATED CROSS ACTION for deposition dated, November 13, 1986.
During service of process the subject denied being Eugene Ingram
and indicated he was a landscaper at work. Ingram appeared very
nervous. Ingram also stated, "See my truck", pointing to the
blue camper Ca. Lie. plate. 3B55430, which had been parked on
location 10/29/86 and 11/01/86 prior to surveillance. The
subject appeared to be attempting to avoid service of process
based on 10/25/86, the Investigator at Ingram's Investigation was
informed of the subpena/deposition for the subject who evidently
inform Ingram of the nature of the service of process attempt.
Investigator Richardson replied, "Eugene Ingram your served with
a subpena for deposition". Ingram appeared very angry and
becoming hostile, based on his attitude and tone of voice.
Investigator Richardson layed the subpena in the driveway on the
ground approximately 10 feet from the subject. Ingram replied
angrley, " 1 1 am not Gene Ingram you got the wrong guy".
Investigator Richardson replied, "Show me some ID that your not
Ingram. The subject began screaming, "Get off my property".
(Unaudible fowl language)
The unidentified male/companion stated aloud, "I'am a Deputy
Sheriff and your on private property". Investigator Richardson
departed the immediate location of the property. Investigator
Richardson walked back to his vehicle parked on the opposite side
of the street, adjacient to the 717 Danford Drive, residence. As
Investigator Richardson attempted to enter his vehicle from the
drivers side of the car, the subject quickly approached this
Investigator stating, "I'm gonna punch your fuckin lights out".
Investigator Richardson strongly advised Ingram to calm down or
risk the chance of losing his Private Investigators License and
going to jail for assault and battery. Ingram requested to see
my identification which Investigator Richardson displayed
Untouchables Private Detectives business card. Ingram then
replied, "This bullshit". The subjects male/companion and Regina
Ingram approached my vehicle. Investigator Richardson displayed
State Licensed ID card which Eugene Ingram snatched from my hand
and stepped back onto the driveway of the property. The
male/companion insisted, he was a Deputy Sheriff for the County.
Investigator Richardson requested his ID, which he indicated, he
did not have the identification, badge number and or refused to
give his name. Investigator Richardson informed the
male/companion that impersonating a Deputy Sheriff is a felony
and or lack of ID on his person, deems disciplinary action from
his superiors. Investigator Richardson also displayed a renewal
ID card. These identification cards were inspected by the
subject and adjoining party. During this event, the
male/companion continuously insisted in warning, "You better not
come back on the property". The subject held my picture ID in
hand on the 717 Danford driveway property, so that if I stepped
on his property reaching for my ID card. Investigator Richardson
would be guilty of trespassing. However, shortly thereafter all
parties returned my ID cards.
Eugene Ingram stated, "You didn't put the subpena in my hand so
I'm not served". Subject walked onto his driveway and picked up
the subpena from the ground and began to read the document.
Investigator Richardson replied, "Failure to appear for the
deposition is a penalty of contempt and or fine."
Investigator Richardson entered his vehicle and departed the
location.
